My History with Nintendo and more

It’s so sad to see NP (Nintendo Power) go. And, to think I use to get the magazines as a child. They have also changed over the years. I bought a copy of their magazine yesterday. I looked through it, but haven’t read the article’s as of yet.

I read some of the letters in Pulse though. My favorite letter from that section will always be about that kid who wrote in about Epona’s song. He said, “he was waiting for the bus and he was humming Epona’s song. A minute later (or so) the bus came.”

I had the fondest moments with Nintendo systems over the years. We grew up on the SNES. It’s also thanks to my brother, who got me into Harvest Moon for the SNES. I had a surgery, which lead me unable to walk for some months. He rented Harvest Moon for me on week, and I don’t remember if I fell in love with the series then or not. It was interesting to say the least. I know I was sad to see it end.

Another of my favorite memories, when looking back; is half-watching my brother get to the Temple of time and meeting Rauru for the first time. I was sitting back and had beat Pokemon Red for the first time.

We stopped getting NP after my brother “lost” our N64 controllers (they were stolen by a neighbor). Plus, he the got a PS1 (shortly) afterward. He didn’t play any Nintendo systems much anymore. And, this is starting to sound like a gaming creepypasta that I read. Trust me it won’t end like that. It’s just me reminiscing on my life being a fan girl.

I got into handheld gaming then. I first got a fushia pink GBA, and brought that to school to play Pokemon Ruby. I played the game a lot during lunch with my friends. And, then we moved (I am unsure if I got a SP system). When I moved up here, I asked my parents for a GameCube, and I got to buy my own Phat DS system. I gave away my Phat DS system to my cousin (because I was either force or told to). But, I sold it nontheless. I got a DSL, afterwards. And, from then on I got the upgraded versions of the DS (Dsi).

Even though, I just ran through the list of DS systems in the last paragraph, I know I will always be a fan girl of Nintendo. Mostly because I love Harvest Moon. And, Harvest Moon games (for the most part) have been releasing on their systems. Yet, it’s mostly on the handhelds. And, ironically so has Pokemon games. I’ve already missed one 3DS Harvest Moon game (and no I’m not going to rebuy it). I already own it.

Now, I think I will play some Ocarina of Time (NP’s number one game of all time) on my Wii. I still want this game on my 3DS.

I have a weird taste in games, In the past week, I played a bit of Dragon Quest IX (mostly in school). Lately I’ve seen a blue and white dog in Best Buy, when my boyfriend and I gone there in the past few months. I (oddly enough) started thinking about it in art class. I don’t know why. And, we were looking at fresco and sculptures in Rome.

It’s called a Wappy Dog. It’s made by Activision, which was bought by Blizzard (I believe). My Wappy Dog is named Wappy, and it’s a girl. I determined this by Wappy’s voice when I converse with it. The game “box” contained an interactive Wappy Dog, the game on DS and a doggie bone stylist. I got it at Walmart for $50. I have to thing is the stylist really worth the $20?!

Anyway, I checked my grades for income tax on Thursday. It was the last thing I did before going to bed. I got a 30/30!! I was so happy and excited. I went to bed happy, yet had a nightmare all in one night. But I believe I got through it. And, it now seems far away.

Excitement ~!

I recently picked up Queen’s Crown yesterday afternoon. And, the story reminds me of the short RPG I made in RPG maker back in high school named Kitty Kross. It’s pretty interesting to say the least. At first I bought the lite version, because I normally test games out if they interest me. Most games don’t. But, this one did. I played it for a few hours straight.

Anyway, it gives me the idea to play Terraria again, using McTwisp possibly to create the [Artemis Kingdom]. This will be fun. I haven’t played Terraria since the last update came out (1.0.6.1) came out. But, I’m excited to start this.

Summer Living

I love how the weather is getting colder. It’s fall, and I know I haven’t updated this blog in a LONG time. But, new thing, and exciting things are happening. Well… not really. I got a few new games this summer: Recetear, Chantelise, and Dungeons of Dredmore to name a few. School started up at the end of August, and when that started up I started playing Digimon Masters Online. Heh. So I guess you can say I’m a gamer girl. I mean, I have already admitted to a few of my friends that I’m indeed a nerd.

I also picked up Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns, and Rune Factory 3 last month.

Anyway, I had my first computer test yesterday. I think I did alright on it. I am not sure if I did well on the charts though, because I was so unsure of what to do. It’s just been a busy few months. I mean, I have to do well in school this semester. I’m not all too worried about my business class, but CIS, that’s another story. In fact I should be doing homework right now instead of typing up this blog, but I want to have breakfast first before homework.. Especially because I’m hungry.

Plus, I’m excited to go out to Galleria Mall once it opens the wing that brunt down last year. IT opens tomorrow. Eeee~!

…And, the microwave is beeping at me… foods ready~!

Summer’s Here!

And, you know what that means– since school’s out, and I am currently jobless. No? Well, I turn to Video Games. That’s right I have nothing better to do. I should be working on my own projects, but alas my mind is totally blank on what to work on. I know, I scrapped the project that I was working on last summer because it somehow tied into the pain and hurt that came around last year. But, whatever. I have ideas in my head, but somehow my mind becomes blank when I want to write them into a full context story. Sucks, I know.

As of late, I’ve been playing Portal 2, and Terraria. Both games are fun to say the least.

Portal 2 uses brain power to solve puzzles, and I just realized I’ve never documented playing the original Portal. How very interesting. Well, I bought it in the beginning of the year (for $30 at Fry’s Electronics) and beat it back in April. I then decided to buy Portal 2 some odd weeks ago, and have been playing it off and on.

Terraria, on the other hand; is somewhat like MineCraft (which I’ve played, didn’t really like it since it focuses mostly on building). And, Terraria is more of an action type rpg, with the aspects of building in it as well. And, I guess Terraria has got a grasp on me, because it has the little element called Action-RPG.

Life and School

This past weekend has been somewhat eventful. Well, really it started before the weekend. My dad ordered three brand new house phones because our old one(s) have stopped working. Well, they work up tll a point. And, that point is answering the phone, so I guess it doesn’t really work.

Anyway, during the past weekend we shopped for a laptop (a replacement for my broken one).  We ended up getting a HP laptop, which has a fingerprint reader. I’ve registered my fingerprint, but I still am not sure how to use it. My mom and I also went around shopping for a stereo to replace the one she sent to Philippines. We didn’t end up buying one though. I ended up buying a Creative Zen X-Fi2 MP3 player. Even though it’s not wifi (or a phone) I still love it.

I did something spontaneous as well on Saturday. I went to the barbershop and got a hair cut. My hair is now shoulder length. I like it actually, it just get some getting used to, especially  since my hair is somewhat wild. On another note I bought a few video games. I also now have a video game blog named Nila Ranch Gaming.  I am looking forward to playing Resident Evil REmake and Resident Evil Code Veronica.

Oh! And, school… school’s school… All I have to do is focus on Federal Income Tax (Accounting 09), and what a horrible job I’m doing at that. I just spent most of this afternoon playing catch up on homework… and we’re getting our second take home test tomorrow. That’s awful. At least there is no school on Monday because of President’s Day.
